Free referee training with David Smyth from Water Polo Victoria — no experience required. Sessions on 19 July, 9 August and 13 September.
Want to understand the game better — or take the next step toward becoming a referee? Monash has partnered with Water Polo Victoria to run a free Referees & Officials Workshop series.
David Smyth from WPV will deliver the sessions. They’re open to everyone: no experience required, and they’re worthwhile even if you never plan to take the whistle. New players especially will get a clearer picture of what’s happening in the pool.
Each day runs the same way: workshop 3–4 pm, junior games 4–5 pm, senior games 5–7 pm. Dates are 19 July, 9 August and 13 September.
If you do want to referee, attending is the first step — once you’ve shown interest we can put your name forward with WPV for shifts. Email info@monashuniwaterpolo.com.au if you plan to come so we can plan for numbers.
